Healthy Beef

Due to muscle hyperplasia (double muscling), small bones and low fat, Piemontese cattle have more usable meat per pound of live weight than any other breed. On average a Piemontese carcass dresses out at 70% compared to 63% for normal cattle which results in 14% more beef.

Trials suggest that fodder-fed cattle have a propensity to produce a much higher level of Omega3 than any other breed. Avocet are conducting ongoing Omega3 trials.
